WHAT TO DO IN YOUR KITCHEN GARDEN IN JULY
In July the summer is in full swing and the warmer weather is (hopefully) here to stay. It makes being out in the garden all the more enjoyable! But so does the harvest…
JOBS LIST
- When the sun is out it is super important to water your crops regularly. But try to avoid doing so in the heat of the day. In the morning or evening is the best time to water if you can.
- Keep weeding.
- Keep an eye out for pests and diseases like blight when its warm and wet, caterpillar damage and carrot fly.
PLANT NOW
In July start thinking about what you will want to harvest in late summer, early autumn. Consider planting:
- Spinach
- Chard
- Kale
- Leeks
- Cabbages
- Cauliflower
- Broccoli
- Brussel Sprouts
- Tomatoes
- Peppers
HARVEST NOW
What can’t you harvest in July?! It’s a month where you will be harvesting regularly depending on what it is you have planted. Your harvest might include:
