Whipped Tofu “Feta” with roasted tomatoes

Whipped Tofu “Feta” with roasted tomatoes

I’ve taken your average block of tofu and turned it into creamy Whipped Tofu “Feta” . It’s then topped with juicy roasted tomatoes and garlic. The whipped Tofu Feta is super smooth and perfect for dipping or spreading. Get the recipe below.

Creamy dips and spreads

Whipped cheese is a super creamy decadent way of serving soft cheeses like feta. They get whipped up with cream, oil and/or yogurt to make a super smooth dip / spread. You can see how to make dairy whipped feta here.

But why should those who eat dairy have all the fun? Why not make a vegan whipped feta out of tofu?

This Whipped Tofu “Feta” has all the flavour of cheese thanks to a combination of salt, nutritional yeast, garlic powder and lemon juice.

Once made, it is great served as a dip or spread across toast of your choice). I love spreading it on sourdough with the juicy tomatoes bursting and the sweet roasted garlic adding a little hum.

How to make Whipped Tofu “Feta”

I’ve alluded to just how easy it is to make this dish. But here are the simple steps:

  • Roast the tomatoes and garlic with a healthy glug of olive oil in a hot oven until they are bursting open and the garlic is soft.
  • In the meantime, add the tofu, salt, nutritional yeast, garlic powder and lemon juice to a high speed blender or food processor – I use my Nutribullet.
  • Blitz the ingredients on high until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed.
  • Once the tomatoes are cooked all that’s left to do it serve!

What tofu should I use?

This recipe is made using a block of firm tofu that has been drained but not pressed. Silken tofu would be too soft and the dip would be runny.

  • Delicious!!! I served it with an olive tapenade & it really paired well. So smooth & creamy! Next time I’ll add a bit of crushed red pepper for a little kick

    • So pleased you liked it Megan. I’ll have to take your advice and pair it with tapenade next time I make it 🙂

  • Looks delicious and I would like to try. Do you know how long I could store in the fridge for?
