Vegan Brownies

Vegan Brownies

Everyone needs a bad-ass vegan brownie recipe in their repertoire. This is it. My vegan brownies are fool-proof and can easily be customised. Get the recipe below.

Back to basics

You’re here because you want to know how to make the best vegan brownies on the internet. The good news is this is the recipe you’re after.

Contrary to popular belief, vegan baking really doesn’t have to be complicated. With just a few simple swaps you can create tasty treats that are almost identical to their non-vegan counter parts.

Check out my full guide to vegan baking here.

In the UK you don’t need to worry about sugar or flour including animal products, and a good quality cocoa powder will be dairy free too. There are vegan substitutes for most dairy products now too. If a recipe calls for butter, no problem, just use a non-dairy butter or margarine! Stores are also starting to stock commercial egg replacer like Follow Your Heart VeganEgg or Free & Easy Vegan Egg Replacer.

How to make vegan brownies

This recipe is so simple that vegan substitutes are not necessary. In fact, this is a plant based brownie recipe that uses basic ingredients you won’t need to make a trip to the store for.  To make these brownies you’ll need just 6 ingredients: bananas, oil, sugar, non-dairy milk, flour and cocoa powder. No fancy ingredients here!

Would you believe that these simple store cupboard staples make delicious brownies?!

If you want to customise or pimp these brownies it’s really easy. You can add 75 grams of chopped nuts, dark chocolate chips, or dried fruit to the batter before baking. Or why not try a mixture of all three?!

Once you’ve collected your ingredients you’ll also need a set of scales, a large bowl, a fork, and a brownie tin. If you’re not all that keen on washing up then I can highly recommend buying Disposable Brownie Trays. They’re also really handy if you’re taking these brownies to a friend’s house or if you’re selling them at a bake sale! Though who am I kidding, I just eat them straight out of the tray!
