Fun and floral cocktails

In the spring time I love to play around with floral flavours to create exciting drinks and dishes that remind you the sun is shining and its slowly getting warmer outside.

This Lavender, Lemon and Prosecco Cocktail is an attempt to bring together some of the flavours of spring into a simple cocktail.

How to make a Lavender, Lemon and Prosecco Cocktail

There are 3 elements to this cocktail which all work together in harmony. The lavender syrup adds a floral aroma and subtle herbal flavour.

The lemon brings brightness and acidity.

Finally the Prosecco ties it all together with crisp, light bubbles!

To make the cocktail it is as simple as layering the ingredients in a champagne flute or glass. This isn't the kind of cocktail you want to shake as it will fizz everywhere! Just pour and stir.

Variations

Instead of using Prosecco you could consider using another sparkling wine like Champagne or Cava. Both would work well.

Top tips

For a non-alcoholic version you could use an non-alcoholic sparkling wine or lemonade.

  1. Chill Everything: Keep your Prosecco and glassware well-chilled to ensure your cocktail stays crisp and bubbly.
  2. Balance the Sweetness: If you prefer a less sweet cocktail, reduce the amount of syrup or opt for a dry Prosecco.
  3. Up the ante!: Add a splash of gin or vodka for extra depth.

When to serve a Lavender, Lemon and Prosecco Cocktail

This cocktail is perfect for serving at garden parties, engagements, birthdays, Valentine's day or even New Years Eve.

FAQ

Where can I buy lavender syrup?

There are a couple of lavender syrups on the market which are perfect for this cocktail. I use Monin but you could also use William Fox. Both are readily available online.

Of course, you can also make your own but that's a recipe for another day...
