Cranes Cranberry Cider
I’d recently been gifted some of Cranes Cranberry Cider. Now, I’m under no obligation to mention them but I’m impressed with the range. Although their drinks taste great on their own, today I’m sharing an idea for a cranberry cider cocktail.
But, who are Cranes?
Cranes is the world’s first cranberry “cider”. It’s made from fermented cranberries rather than apples which means that it’s very low in calories thanks to very little added sugar. At just 99 calories a bottle and full of flavour what’s not to love?!
They come in three flavours, original cranberry, raspberry & pomegranate and strawberry & kiwi. They’re all awesome but for this cocktail I used the original cranberry as the base.
Cranberries usually make me think of Christmas. My go to flavour combination at that time of year is cranberry and orange. However, my Cranberry and Orange Cooler has a summery finish by using a splash of Aperol and topping it up with soda water.
How to make a cranberry and orange cooler
You need just 4 ingredients to make a cranberry and orange cooler. They are Crane’s original cranberry cider, Aperol, soda water and an orange (peel only).
As with any cocktail it’s important to think about how it smells as much as how it tastes. A great way to add some aroma to the experience it to rub a small section of the peel around the rim.
Add a twist of orange peel to the glass followed by ice. Fill the glass with the Aperol then top with the Crane’s Original Cranberry Cider.
All that’s left to do is then to top it off with a little soda water to make for a really refreshing drink.
The recipe
As this is a long drink it’s best served on a warm Saturday afternoon while you’re sat in the garden. It’s also awesome served at BBQs!

Thanks Jackie 🙂 it’s pretty bright isn’t it 😛
Oh I could just go for a glass of that. It looks so refreshing.
Looks perfect for those hot summer days …love the colors! Thanks for sharing 🙂
My pleasure Maria! Thank you for stopping by! I love the neon orange that Aperol turns everything!
Totally love the look of that, and I could certainly sink one now!
This cooler is perfect for the summer heat to serve at barbecues and al fresco dining.
Yum! What a pretty and tasty looking cooler! That’ll be great for the summer once we start getting some warm days around here. New Englanders like to complain about the weather too! I suppose it comes from living in a changeable climate. 🙂
Glad we’re not the only ones 😛 today it is SUPER HOT but looks like it could chuck it down with rain at any time…better pour another cocktail…
Cranberry cider – what a unique drink. Cranberries are so good for you and so versatile!
I’ve certainly not had anything like it before! It’s delicious!
Oooh, this cider sounds really interesting. I’ve never seen it before so I’ll have to make sure I look for it the next time I’m in the supermarket cider aisle!
It’s definitely stocked by Ocado and a number of pubs. No doubt they are trying to get it in all the supermarkets too! It’s delicious!
Strawberry and Kiwi cider, now that sounds very interesting! I would love to try this flavour! I’ve never had Cranes cider before, but will definitely check it out!
It’s a really interesting flavour combo isn’t it? definitely keep an eye out for Cranes! It’s awesome 🙂
