- 100 g redcurrants
- 50 g caster sugar
- 100 ml water
- 50 ml vodka
- 25 ml triple sec e.g. Cointreau or Grand Marnier
- 1 lime juice only
- redcurrants for garnish
- Ice cubes
Combine 100 grams redcurrants with the sugar and water in a saucepan.
Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves.
Strain the mixture through a sieve, pressing the berries to extract the maximum amount of juice.
Let it cool before assembling the cocktail.
Fill a shaker with ice.
Add vodka, triple sec, redcurrant syrup, and lime juice.
Shake vigorously for 20-30 seconds to ensure it’s well-chilled and mixed.
Strain the mixture into a chilled martini glass.
Garnish with a skewer of fresh red currants.
