My Week in Pictures

My Week in Pictures

It’s probably no secret that I have been in America for the past week.

Those of you who follow me on twitter or instagram will have been inundated with pictures and updates on my trip.

The purpose of our visit to the USA was for the wedding of Dan and Beth. Dan is one of our oldest friends (Jon’s known him since they were babies and I’ve known Dan as long I’ve known Jon.) Beth however is a new friend! Dan and Beth met in South Sudan where they were both working for charitable organisations. Their romance has been a bit of a whirlwind and they knew it was love when they were evacuated out of the country back in December when civil war started.

Beth is actually from Delaware so we travelled all the way to Fenwick Island to celebrate their marriage. Jon was an usher and I was honoured to do a reading during the service.

It was our first time in the US and it was amazing just how friendly and warm the people were. Beth’s friends and family really made us feel at home and we’ve definitely made friends for life! I can’t wait until they all come to visit Beth and Dan when they move to England.

These are just a select few photos from the wedding – I’m sure you’ll agree it was incredibly romantic.

We also visited New York while we were in America. We figured it would be good to see a bit of a contrast and New York has always been a fascination of mine. I’ll be doing a separate post on restaurants in New York so do pop back later in the week to see my recommendations.

While we were away my eldest cousin James had his first child – Alikae! Yesterday we went round for our cuddles. He is the most adorable baby and was very calm and placid. He didn’t cry on me or poop! A first for me as I’m usually the unlucky winner of a dirty nappy.

I was hoping that after a hectic week or so things would calm down but it doesn’t look that way unfortunately – so watch this space!
