This decadent hot chocolate recipe is both boozy and spicy making it the perfect way to warm up this Christmas.

  • 300 millilitres whole milk
  • 100 grams dark chocolate finely chopped or grated
  • 75 grams milk chocolate finely chopped or grated
  • 75 millilitres single cream
  • 50 millilitres amaretto
  • 1 pinch of ground cinnamon
  1. Warm about the milk in a pan over a meadium heat.
  2. Before it comes to a simmer take off the heat and add in the chocolate.
  3. Stir until the chocolate is completely melted.
  4. Whisk in the cream followed by the amaretto.
  5. Continue to heat until the mixture is hot (but not boiling) then add the cinnamon.
  6. Whisk again before pouring to make velvety.
