Cranberry & Amaretto, a Christmas Cocktail

Cranberry & Amaretto, a Christmas Cocktail

Christmas has arrived, it’s time to put your feet up with a glass of Cranberry & Amaretto. Find out how to make this festive cocktail below.

Festive flavours

I have my sister to thank for the Cranberry and Amaretto Cocktail currently in my hand. I discovered the drink way back in September when my sister and her husband came to visit. The bar tender looked a bit mad at us when we ordered – perhaps because cranberry and amaretto are consumed at Christmas more than any other time of the year. But, I had one sip and I loved it!

I knew that the second fresh cranberries appeared in the store I would be making this cocktail. It would be rude of me not to share this (very) simple recipe with you too. Especially as it’s Christmas Eve.

If you’ve not already made your cranberry sauce for tomorrow then make sure you keep a few of the fresh berries back to put in your cocktail. A spring of rosemary also helps to balance out the sweetness from the amaretto and makes the bitterness of the cranberry juice a little less harsh. (Plus it smells delicious too!)

The recipe

I like to pour the cranberry juice in gently so you get to see the amber amaretto swirl and slowly mix with the cranberry juice. The rosemary works as a good stirrer to help combine the two before you take your first sip.

Enjoy!
