Now that we have finally exchanged contracts and we are scheduled to complete tomorrow, I can start getting excited about the prospect of decorating our new home.
There is a reasonable amount of work that needs doing to the house including some plastering in the lounge and bedrooms as well as some electrical work (I’ve decided I don’t like the wall lights in the lounge!) Because of this, decorating the big rooms in the house is going to take a little longer and we’ll be focusing our efforts on the hall, stairs and landing, bathroom and kitchen when we first move in.
Although I know which way I’m likely to go when it comes to decorating the house I’ve been having lots of fun thinking of different “themes” for each room. Here are 3 design styles perfect for a bathroom. Can you guess which one I’m going to go for?

This is quite a clean and classic look taking inspiration from modern minimalism but with a touch of vintage chic. I absolutely adore roll top baths and would love a home where a free standing bath could take pride of place.
2. Tropical

I love this bright and airy tropical theme. With crisp white, vibrant green foliage and teak wood adding to the “back to nature” vibe this is an easy bathroom design that would work in any home. My favourite part of this design is the large, rain shower head. Imagine the feeling of warm tropical rain pouring over you. Heavenly!
3. Nautical

I am a sucker for anything kitsch, bright and colourful. This nautical design has been done in bathrooms up and down the country and why? Because it just works! Who doesn’t want to be reminded of holidays down in Cornwall while they are showering? I think the way to make a nautical bathroom design to work best, is to pick up nick-knacks and design pieces when you’re on your holidays. That way each item will feel extra special!
There we have it, 3 very different designs that can all be easily executed whatever style house, flat or bungalow you live in.
Which is your favourite? Can you guess which one I might go for when we move in?
Make sure you come back soon for updates including before and after shots as we makeover the whole house!
