Cranes Cranberry Cider

I’d recently been gifted some of Cranes Cranberry Cider. Now, I’m under no obligation to mention them but I’m impressed with the range. Although their drinks taste great on their own, today I’m sharing an idea for a cranberry cider cocktail.

But, who are Cranes?

Cranes is the world’s first cranberry “cider”. It’s made from fermented cranberries rather than apples which means that it’s very low in calories thanks to very little added sugar. At just 99 calories a bottle and full of flavour what’s not to love?!

They come in three flavours, original cranberry, raspberry & pomegranate and strawberry & kiwi. They’re all awesome but for this cocktail I used the original cranberry as the base.

Cranberries usually make me think of Christmas. My go to flavour combination at that time of year is cranberry and orange. However, my Cranberry and Orange Cooler has a summery finish by using a splash of Aperol and topping it up with soda water.

How to make a cranberry and orange cooler

You need just 4 ingredients to make a cranberry and orange cooler. They are Crane’s original cranberry cider, Aperol, soda water and an orange (peel only).

As with any cocktail it’s important to think about how it smells as much as how it tastes. A great way to add some aroma to the experience it to rub a small section of the peel around the rim.

Add a twist of orange peel to the glass followed by ice. Fill the glass with the Aperol then top with the Crane’s Original Cranberry Cider.

All that’s left to do is then to top it off with a little soda water to make for a really refreshing drink.
