I’m beginning to feel like myself again. The last month or so has been fantastic and this past week has been no exception.
Autumn is one of my favourite times of year and I started the week kicking through the fallen leaves in Grovelands Park hand in hand with Jon.
In a setting as beautiful as this, it was easy to remember why we moved to Southgate in the first place.
It’s been a year (and a day!) since we moved to London together and we can’t imagine leaving any time soon. We’ve definitely made N14 our home.
A lot has changed in the last year – mainly for the better – but one sad truth is that our waistlines have been expanding! We are spoilt for restaurants not only in London, but in Southgate too so whilst we are doing our best to get up off our bums with a brisk jog every other day, we still went out for a meal at our local Italian to celebrate the occasion!
With all the extra time I’ve had this last month I’ve also been able to spend a fair amount of time in the kitchen. I’ve come up with two new Autumnal recipes – Chewy Pumpkin Cookies with Cinnamon Chips and Pumpkin Spiced Latte. Yum!
These are just two sneaky pictures before the recipes go up on the blog later this week. The canned pumpkin used in the recipes has actually been in my cupboard since last year! I had bulk ordered it from the internet and discovered there’s only so much pumpkin a girl can eat! Thankfully it was still well within its use by date!
Last but not least, I’ve spent today crafting. I’ve always been a crafty person – for the last 10 years I’ve been scrapbooking mine and Jon’s relationship. Now that I have a flat of my own, I’m finally able to make decorations and other nik-naks for around our home.
I’ve decided this year I’m going to share with you some of my creations. First I’ll be uploading a tutorial for this autumnal wreath (made with real fruit and conkers!) I’ll also share hand made Christmas cards, a Christmas wreath and tree decorations of all shapes and sizes! So if you want to get creative too, watch this space.
I hope you have a wonderful week ahead of you!
